Anonymous 30 - Being Available To Others

Earlier this week, someone I haven’t spoken to for 6 years reached out to me. They have been following my blog and felt that I was the right person for them to speak to having known my own experiences previously. I have asked their permission to repeat their story for the benefit of others, albeit anonymously. This message is not gender specific.

This is the post I put out via Facebook on 8th July 2020. I wasn’t sure if anyone would contact me, but I wanted to make myself available to others and due to the current situation I couldn’t think of a better way:

“Hello all - I'm asking because no-one else does...

As part of my podcast [LIVING MORE OF A LIFE] I will be covering a range of topics which are rarely discussed. The more I speak to friends and new acquaintances, the more I find out that we suffer from various elements in silence, all of which stop us from living more of a life. Too many topics are seen as TABOO or we just don't know how to put the issue into words. We don't find the support we need and often it isn't out there in a way we relate to or can afford (especially in the time frame we need it).

I know that many of you will have lived mostly silently with many of the following issues:

chronic pain
mental health conditions
gut health conditions
miscarriage/baby loss
post natal depression
infertility
lack of confidence
anxiety
fear
abuse
painful or uncomfortable sex
unsatisfying or off-putting sex
period pain and other premenstrual symptoms
endometriosis
vulvodynia
vaginismus
impotence
eating disorder
loneliness
loss
low energy levels
regret

there are so many more!!!

1) if you have suffered or are suffering from anything like these I am here to discuss it with you, without judgement, without embarrassment.

2) if you know of support in these areas and have come through the other side, I'd love to speak with you so that I can use this knowledge to help others.

3) if you are living with a partner, child or parent who is suffering and you don't know where to turn, again, let me know if you want to.

4) if you are aware of other reasons why those around you are not living more of a life, please let me know your ideas so I can find out more.

Some of you may not have spoken to me in years - but that doesn't matter. Just ping me a message. I'll provide my number so we can speak or you can write to me.

x”

In this podcast, I mention the book Period Power, by Maisie Hill. I’ve personally bought it twice, first as an audiobook and then as a physical book to refer back to. If you want an easy link to it, here it is:
